Good things...good things down the road. Any aftermarket plans?

I read a history of the 400 big block a while ago and found it absolutely fascinating, and inspiring- the last big stonkin' V8 after so many had given up on muscle and usually underrated power to keep the GM suits happy.

Best thing? The Pontiac 400 and 455 were small blocks! The engine wasn't running correctly and I'm pretty darn certain that is because the stock springs and valve train couldn't handle the grind of my newer more aggressive cam. So that stuff is being replaced. Maybe I'll put on an aluminum intake and new exhaust.

Non-optional head work. Or "Whoo-hoo ported and polished and bad ass heads"

Did that the last time I had them off. This time is a new valve train

Research them, they're quite different than a chevy block. So much more low end torque!

Non-optional... The cam I installed last year was too aggressive for the stock valve springs and stuff so I have to replace the springs and other valve stuff.

Are you going to do away with those headers or keep them?

I want to do away with them. My budget will determine if I can or not.

I can see why you want to. A SBC in the same engine bay isn't nearly as bad with headers as with that Poncho.

Valve train sometimes get overlooked, even though it can ruin you engine quickly. Everyone is always so worried about heads and cam

sounds good. Were they related to the 383? I have a few buddies with strokers

I don't believe so. They were designed independent of the Chevy engines of the era so very very few parts are interchangeable. Pontiac never made a big block... and you could get a 455ci engine.
